MOSCOW, Jan 19 (PRIME) -- The net profit attributable to shareholders of Russian gas giant Gazprom increased by 5.3% on the year to 709.321 billion rubles in January–September 2016, as calculated under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the company said in a statement on Thursday.
Sales revenue increased to 4.321 trillion rubles in the period from 4.206 trillion rubles in the same period of 2015, while operating costs grew to 3.825 trillion rubles from 3.172 trillion rubles. Sales profit plunged 45.5% to 567.820 billion rubles.
Pretax profit rose 8.9% to 941.690 billion rubles.
Gazprom increased its net debt by 5% 2.18 trillion rubles as of September 30, 2016.
In December 2016, Gazprom also took out 29.8 billion rubles of loans maturing in 2021 from the country’s second largest bank VTB at 10.5%, according to the company’s report.
